This position has hands on responsibilities, caring for our guests who attend Doggy Day Care or require animal boarding. It is fun, fast paced and an incredibly rewarding role.

ABOUT THE RESORT:
With a strong client and guest network, the Maraboon Pet Resort is a family friendly resort that works alongside the Maraboon Vet Surgery, administering outstanding animal service to the Central Highlands region. Located in the largest town, Emerald, MPR prides itself on providing the very best care to its customers (and furry friends!). MPR is a state of the art facility with a very busy schedule revolving around animal boarding (cats and dogs), dog grooming and doggy day care. Providing exceptional customer service and animal care are our highest priorities. With a high focus on supporting and training its employees, low staff turnover and a strong team work ethic, MPR is a highly sought after place of employment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Doggy Day Care duties including animal handling, running doggy day care activities, bathing dogs and providing updates to owners
• Kennel cleaning - this is a large part of the role!
• Providing superior customer service to guest owners
• Assisting with the development of the Doggy Day Care program and associated activities
• Assisting with reception duties including taking phone calls, helping with admissions and discharges, greeting clients and guests
HOURS OF WORK AND SHIFTS:
• The role is a combination of Doggy day care shifts and animal assisting shifts (in the boarding department)
• Doggy Day Care shifts are 7:30am – 4:30 pm with a 60 min lunch break. This program is well established and training will be provided. Learn more about our Doggy Day Care program on our website https://www.maraboonpetresort.com.au/doggy_day_care
• Animal assisting shifts are 7:30am – 5:30pm with a 60 min lunch break.
• There may also be additional shifts on weekends available (in the boarding department). These are generally 8-11am and 3-5pm (shared amongst staff).
SELECTION CRITERIA:
• Punctual and diligent work ethic
• Have your own form of transport and a QLD Driver's Licence
• Be self-motivated and eager to learn
• Above average physical fitness level (heavy lifting is part of the role and you will spend all day on your feet!)
• Strong ability to work in a cohesive team environment as well as independently (must be able to show initiative!).
• A high priority approach to guest and client care with fantastic customer service skills
• Great communication skills, written and verbal
• Be able to show initiative
• Great animal handling skills and a lover to all pets!
• Must be available during peak periods (school holidays, Easter and Christmas)
